STUDENT RESOURCES

Student Resources: Inventory

LISTENING

Every musician hones their ear through practice. One of the best ways to further that aural training is through regularly listening to some of the best performers on their instrument in a wide variety of styles. In this section, you will find a list of the most famous flute solos, ensembles, and flute orchestral excerpts. You will also find links to some of my favorite classical flutists, and some fun, non classical flute recordings to show just how diverse flute performances are!

PRACTICE MATERIALS

Daily practice gives you the skills you need to perform music convincingly. Here are links to exercises and etudes to help you in whatever area you feel needs help, as well as some of my notes on effective practice techniques.

FINGERING CHARTS

There are lots of fingering charts out there with a wide variety of purposes. Here is a quick guide to the best available fingering charts, along with my own edits and tips.

THEORY RESOURCES

Having a basic understanding of music theory can help make practice more efficient, tuning more accurate, and performance more enjoyable. Included in this section are some performance style guides and musical terminology dictionaries.

OTHER LINKS

Links to blogs, research, ted talks, and anything else that I find interesting and think someone else might too!
